OVERVIEW

History
Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 was established on August 14, 1967 under Decision No. 128 / CP of the Prime Minister. The university's original headquarters is located in Cau Giay, Tu Liem, Hanoi.
On 11 October 1975, the Minister of Education signed Decision No. 872 / QD on the renovation and construction of Hanoi Pedagogical University 1 (now Hanoi Nationnal  University of Education) and Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 also moved to Xuan Hoa town, Soc Son district, Vinh Phu province (now Xuan Hoa ward, Phuc Yen city, Vinh Phuc province).

Mision
Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 has the mission of training and fostering teachers, education management staff, scientists at  undergraduate and post-graduate levels; to scientific research, transfer advanced knowledge and technologies, especially in the field of educational science, contributing to closing of the academic and  professional gap qualifications between teachers as well as education management staff  in rural areas and northern mountainous areas with urban areas, establishing exemplary model of university- school partnership network;  meeting the requirements of  Vietnam socio-economic development and global  integration.

Vision
By 2030 HPU2 will:
  • Become one of the leading teacher training universities, contributing to the development of teacher training institutions in the Northern Vietnam and in the whole country; become a prestigious educational intuition in terms of teacher education and school- university partnership in South East Asia, with a long term goal of becoming one of the best pedagogical universities in Asia.
  • Provide favorable facilities for advanced professional training and scientific research, especially research in educational sciences.
  • Ensure that the university’s graduates are of high quality, capable, adaptive, creative, and life-long learners.
 
Goals
  • An institution that provides high quality undergraduate and postgraduate and continuous professional development.
  • A high-quality research center with a focus on education, knowledge, and technology transfer in educational science and basic science.
  • A center that connects teacher training colleges and universities, provincial departments of education and training, and high schools in Northern Vietnam around professional development, educational research including innovation of the curriculum contents and methods to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
  • An institution of training and research along with a fully equipped modern facility to provide an optimal environment for teaching, learning, and scientific research; and gradually becoming one of the most prestigious institutions of teacher education in South East Asia.
