On Thursday, 17 June, 2010 Prof. Nguyen Van Ma, Rector of Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 (HPU2), held a meeting with Mr Lee Young Long, the representative in Hanoi of National Taichung University (NTCU), Taiwan. Participating in the meeting include staffs of the international relations department and Dr Dinh Van Dung, Deputy Chief of the training department. After Mr Rector gave a welcoming speech and sketched some main points about HPU2, Mr Lee Young Long presented the introduction about NTCU. Then, both sides discussed possibilities to collaborate between the two schools. Some main points of discussion were
1. to promote the relationship between the two schools through the exchange programmes such as student exchange programmes and faculty exchange programmes
2. to start partnership by sending some teaching staffs from HPU2 to take postgraduate programmes at NTCU through the Vietnamese Oversea Fellowship Programme or the other funding resourses
3. to discuss possibility to exchange library information and learning resources
4. to keep in touch and exchange views between the two schools in the future
5. to continue developing collaborative articles between the two schools and put them in Memorandum of Cooperation to submit to the leaders of both sides for consideration of signing in the near future
Apart from those items above Prof. Nguyen Van Ma also made an invitation to Mr President of NTCU and NTCU delegation to visit HPU2 when they come to Vietnam in August, 2010. Mr Lee Young Long thanked prof Nguyen Van Ma and HPU2 for hospitality and promised to send Prof. Ma's invitation to his school President.
The meeting ended in a mutual understanding and respect between both sides. We all hope that there will be some kinds of collaborations between HPU2 and NTCU soon.
